It will give users a wider range to use their e-wallet apps.

Reserve Bank of India recently issued some e-wallet guidelines, indicating higher compliance standards if you want to continue using e-wallets. As per the guidelines, e-wallets could soon become interoperable too. Currently, you cannot do a transaction between, say, Paytm and Mobikwik e-wallets. Similarly, not all e-wallets are accepted at all merchant outlets and e-commerce sites.

This happens because typically, online or offline merchants accept e-wallet transaction only after signing exclusive tie-ups with an e-wallet company. That can somewhat restrict their wider usage. To make e-wallets acceptable on a larger scale, e-wallet companies have now started offering virtual prepaid cards on apps for their customers.

The offering

To increase the transactions, e-wallet companies are looking for options that let their customers use the money lying in their e-wallets at multiple platforms. The easiest way to do this is offer their customers a prepaid card that runs on a Visa or MasterCard platform. Almost all online merchants accept Visa- and MasterCard-enabled cards. Since e-wallet companies can’t independently offer Visa or MasterCard prepaid cards, they have to partner with banks for this. As per regulations, only banks can issue these cards. Currently, banks such as RBL Bank Ltd and IDFC Bank Ltd are providing prepaid cards linked to The Mobile Wallet and Mobikwik e-wallets, respectively. As of now, e-commerce companies such as Flipkart and Amazon do not accept payments from other e-wallets such as Paytm and Mobikwik. Using these prepaid cards, you will be able to transact on these platforms using the money held in your e-wallet.

How it works

Prepaid cards for e-wallets, which usually run on Visa or Mastercard platform, are issued by partner banks. These cards are similar to debit cards: have a 16-digit unique number along with an expiry date and a CVV number. However, prepaid cards of most e-wallets are virtual cards. You can generate it from your e-wallet app and it will stay inside the app. Some e-wallets have started issuing physical prepaid cards too. Like any debit card, this card will also come with a personal identification number (PIN). To make an online payment using your virtual prepaid card, you have to go to the debit card payment option on the website where you want to do a transaction, enter the 16-digit card number, expiry date, CVV number and your PIN. After these steps, your transaction will be complete. You can use these cards wherever Visa or MasterCard are accepted. The card’s transaction limit is the same as your e-wallet, as the card is a replica of your e-wallet. This service is provided free of charge and can only be used for domestic transactions.

Benefits for you

If you were not able to use your e-wallet at an e-commerce website, a virtual or physical prepaid card linked to your e-wallet will help overcome that barrier. This facility is also useful for those who don’t want to expose their bank account while doing online transactions. But in a sense, through this process, e-wallet companies are going back to the days of card transactions.

VoLTE era begins: Jio and Airtel now offer free VoLTE calls http://www.indscoop.com/volte-era-begins-jio-and-airtel-now-offer-free-volte-calls/ http://www.indscoop.com/volte-era-begins-jio-and-airtel-now-offer-free-volte-calls/#respond Tue, 31 Oct 2017 05:35:55 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=17716 […]]]> The VoLTE war has started in India and two of the country’s most popular telecom operators have entered the ring. Last year Jio made headlines for changing the face of telecom connectivity in India by launching the VoLTE services, and consequently unlimited “free calls” in India and now Airtel that is arguably India’s largest telecom operator has announced the launch of VoLTE services.

Just like the Jio VoLTE calls, the Airtel VoLTE calls are also free!

The Airtel VoLTE services has been launched in Mumbai first and the country-wide roll out is expected to happen in the next few months. Like Jio’s service, the Airtel VoLTE also works on 4G network and will offers HD voice quality calls along with faster call setup time. Airtel has long been in fight with Jio over its free or cheap data plans and has left no stone unturned to match against it. But due to the free VolTE calls that Jio offered, it seemed Jio had the edge. Now that changes. Now it seems Airtel too can offer free calls, although for now only in Mumbai.

So what is Airtel’s VoLTE service? How is it going to change the dynamics of the Indian telecom market? Are the VoLTE calls be free? These and many more similar questions we answer here to help you get a better picture of what is happening in the Indian telecom sector currently.

What is Airtel VoLTE service?

Before understanding Airtel VoLTE service, it is important to understand what is VoLTE service. Currently, in India VoLTE — it stands for voice over LTE — is only offered by Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio in India.
VoLTE allows an operator to offer both voice and data over a 4G LTE network. The big advantage of VoLTE is that call quality is superior to 3G and 2G connections (through which voice is usually routed) as much more data can be transferred via 4G.

VoLTE also allows for greater coverage, at least theoretically. The frequencies that 4G operates on, like the 800MHz spectrum, have far greater reach than the 2G or 3G spectrum. VoLTE also increases battery life of a smartphone as the network does not need to constantly switch to the 3G/2G network every time a call is placed.

VoLTE has many advantages such as superior range, better voice quality and less drain on battery life. Now Airtel has launched this VoLTE service and it is called Airtel VoLTE service.

Are these Airtel VoLTE calls free?

Yes, there will be no additional data charges for VoLTE services. The calls will be billed as per the existing plan or packs benefits just like Jio.
How to get Airtel VoLTE in your 4G enabled smartphone?

— Check mobile device compatibility here . Airtel has tested and certified popular device models for VoLTE compatibility. More models will keep getting added to this list. Popular high-end smartphones are currently supported.

— Upgrade the mobile device’s operating software to the latest version that supports VoLTE. This update is provided by the handset manufacturer.

— Ensure the device has a Airtel 4G SIM. Customers can upgrade to the 4G SIM by visiting the nearest Airtel store.

— Enable VoLTE by following instructions here .

The Airtel 4G SIM should be in the data SIM slot/slot 1 and network mode should be set as “4G/3G/2G (Auto)” to enable the Airtel VoLTE. iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, iPhone 7, Redmi Note 4, Mi Max Prime and Oppo F3 Plus are some of the famous smartphones that are compatible with Airtel VoLTE.

How will Airtel VoLTE service change the dynamics of Indian telecom market?
Airtel’s launch of its 4G VoLTE services come at a very important time when Jio is disrupting the industry and causing a lot of headache to leading operators like Airtel and Vodafone. Until now. Reliance Jio was the only telecom operator in India offering VoLTE services which allowed it to easily offer voice calls for free.
As VoLTE allows the operator to route calls via the data network, the operator incurs lower cost while providing the service. That was the main reason why Reliance Jio was able to provide voice calls for free to all of its subscribers easily.

With VoLTE at its disposal, Airtel could also now start offering completely free voice calls to all of its subscribers. Airtel has a large user base on 2G and 3G network and the company could now offers attractive offers and upgrades to get them on the 4G network.

There are rumours that Airtel is in talks with different handset dealers to offer a cheap 4G-enabled smartphone so there are heavy chances that the company could even pull a large number of Jio users who are facing trouble with Jio’s spotty network in some areas on to its network. Reliance Jio has a VoLTE exclusive network which does not support 2G or 3G connectivity.

Next big change in the Indian telecom industry is VoLTE and with it we can expect that in future, all calls will be free. People will only be charged for data they consume. With telecom giant Airtel entering the VoLTE market, now we can expect other telecom companies like Vodafone, Idea and BSNL may also join the bandwagon soon.

Google Home and Chromecast vs. Amazon Echo and Fire TV http://www.indscoop.com/google-home-and-chromecast-vs-amazon-echo-and-fire-tv/ http://www.indscoop.com/google-home-and-chromecast-vs-amazon-echo-and-fire-tv/#respond Tue, 31 Oct 2017 05:29:32 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=17712 […]]]> Which is the best hands-free TV experience?

Let’s be honest: Reaching for the remote while watching TV isn’t a major inconvenience. But sometimes, after a long day, it’s nice to expend as little energy as possible. If you can control your TV by voice instead, why wouldn’t you?

To that end, Google and Amazon now offer hands-free TV controls through their respective connected speakers. Amazon added Fire TV voice controls to the Echo speaker and other Alexa devices a couple weeks ago, while Google has offered similar voice controls for Chromecast through its own Google Home speaker since last December. Both combos allow you to launch videos, pause, play, rewind, and fast forward without ever touching a remote control.

At least that’s how it works in theory. You’ll quickly run into limitations once you start stress-testing Google Home with Chromecast or Amazon Echo with Fire TV. If you’re looking to control your television with these smart speakers, here’s what to expect from each solution.

Device support

With Alexa devices such as the Amazon Echo, voice control works for all Fire TV products. That includes the first- and second-generation Fire TV box, first- and second-generation Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition televisions.

Amazon Echo voice commands work with any Fire TV device (including first-generation models).
Google Home can control all Chromecast models (including the 4K-enabled Chromecast Ultra) and televisions that have Chromecast built-in. Android TV devices are supported as well, but I got an error message when trying to launch Netflix videos on an Nvidia Shield TV. (Playing YouTube videos worked fine.)

Setup

With a single Google Home, you can control any Chromecast throughout the house. The Google Home app for iOS and Android lets you link multiple Chromecast devices to the speaker, and you can set up custom device names (like “Living Room TV” or “Basement Chromecast”) to use in your voice commands.

By contrast, each Amazon Alexa device must be assigned to a single Fire TV, chosen through the Alexa app on iOS or Android. This approach does allow for shorter voice commands, since you don’t have to specify which device you’re controlling, but it won’t work for certain setups, such as a large basement with multiple TVs within earshot of an Echo.

Launching videos

Today, Alexa can only launch videos from Amazon’s own Prime video service on Fire TV. Asking for a movie or show that’s not on Prime takes you to a generic search results page, which you can’t navigate without a remote. (One exception: If the search brings up only a single result, you might be able to launch it by saying “Alexa, watch that.”) You can also ask Alexa to launch specific apps like HBO Now and Hulu, but you need a remote to proceed any further into the app.

Chromecast and Google Home aren’t much better at the moment, with support for just Netflix and YouTube videos. In May, Google announced that it was expanding voice controls to HBO Now, Hulu, YouTube TV, Google Play Movies & TV, CBS All Access, Food Network, CW, HGTV, Red Bull TV, Travel Channel, Crackle, DIY Network, Viki, and Cooking Channel, but it’s unclear when this support will become available.

Playback controls

Both Amazon Alexa/Fire TV and Google Home/Chromecast support the basics, such as pause, play, rewind, and fast forward. You can also use voice to fast forward or rewind by a specific number of minutes; you can also skip ahead to the next episode.

Since Chromecast lacks a dedicated remote, voice commands may be the easiest way to control basic playback.
But both device combos go off the rails when you want to watch a particular episode or season. Ask Alexa for the next season of a show, and it takes you to the next episode instead. Ask Google Home for the same thing, and it simply tells you that it can’t do that yet.

Still, Google Home has a couple of advantages for now: You can tell it to turn closed captions on and off, and you can tell it to turn the volume down from your television’s current level. (Note: This only adjusts the volume on the Chromecast, not on the TV itself, and it may not work at all if your TV volume is managed by a separate sound system.)

Browsing for things to watch

If you just want to use voice search to see what’s on, Fire TV has a theoretical advantage, with search results that appear on the TV screen. By comparison, asking Google Home to suggest movies or shows only gives you a few spoken suggestions through the speaker, with nothing appearing on the TV via Chromecast.

In practice, though, neither set of devices is particularly useful for browsing. Fire TV only shows a few results at a time, with no way to view supplemental information or navigate through the results by voice. And while you can ask Google Home to tell you more about a particular movie or TV show, the process feels more cumbersome than just reaching for your phone.

TV and A/V controls

Although Google Home and Amazon Alexa don’t offer direct control over most televisions and sound systems, they both work with Logitech Harmony hubs, which in turn can control various TVs, sound systems, and streaming boxes. You don’t even need a Fire TV or Chromecast to use the Harmony this way–it can control your TV directly using either infrared or RF communications.

Amazon has also gone a step further, offering developer tools that allow any TV or A/V manufacturer to embed Alexa controls directly into their hardware. But so far, only Broadlink hubs and 2017 model-year Sony 4K HDR TVs support this. Amazon says controls for Denon, Crestron, LG, and Pulse-Eight systems are coming soon.

The verdict

Despite Google’s nine-month head start in offering hands-free TV controls, it only has a minor edge over Amazon due to its volume and closed-caption controls, and its support for both Netflix and YouTube.

Still, this space should change quickly in the months ahead. Google has already promised support for more streaming services, and Amazon now offers developer tools for streaming services that want to add their own Alexa playback controls. As the two companies battle to build the best virtual assistants, you might soon be able to watch TV without moving a muscle.

WhatsApp Beta version shows UPI payment feature http://www.indscoop.com/whatsapp-beta-version-shows-upi-payment-feature/ http://www.indscoop.com/whatsapp-beta-version-shows-upi-payment-feature/#respond Tue, 31 Oct 2017 03:08:35 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=17681 […]]]> WhatsApp will soon facilitate instant money transfer via the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transaction system, shows a new Beta update by the Facebook-owned mobile messaging platform.
Launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India RBI), UPI facilitates the instant fund transfer between two bank accounts on the mobile platform.
With over 200 million monthly active users (MAUs), WhatsApp has been in the news for working towards a UPI-based interface in its platform.
Now, with the new update to the beta channel (which brings the application up version 2.17.295), we get a glimpse into a new potential feature for the future. It’s called WhatsApp Payments and it looks as if it will allow for immediate bank to bank transfers. The feature is still under development and there could be coming that prevents it from being brought to the public. But it looks as if we’ll be able to send payments to one another via WhatsApp in a future update.
Mobile payments have been on a rise since last year’s demonetisation. In such scenario, digital payments app Paytm has seen major growth in terms of transactions and its user base. It is to be mentioned, as WhatsApp is entering into payments, Paytm is planning to introduce its messaging feature.

WhatsApp is not the only app that is entering into digital payments. Several other popular services such as messaging app Hike and Truecaller already support UPI payment services. However, this move from WhatsApp, the most popular app in India with over 200 million active users, will surely give a boost to digital payments in India.

Top 5 Affordable Diesel Cars in India – Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10 and more http://www.indscoop.com/top-5-affordable-diesel-cars-in-india-tata-tiago-hyundai-grand-i10-and-more/ http://www.indscoop.com/top-5-affordable-diesel-cars-in-india-tata-tiago-hyundai-grand-i10-and-more/#respond Wed, 13 Sep 2017 06:06:19 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16991 […]]]> There was a time when diesel cars were limited to commercial use only, owing to their high emissions, and high maintenance cost. Over the time, the government has worked hard to refine diesel fuel and car manufacturers are also giving their bit to make diesel engines more refined, less pollution emitting and low in maintenance. But still, diesel cars are not accepted that widely as compared to their petrol counterparts and this time, the reason is the high cost of the diesel cars, which amounts to at least Rs 1 Lakhs more than a petrol sibling.

This very reason made buyers reluctant to buy a diesel car, resulting in the high sales of petrol vehicles. Automakers have realized the potential of low-budget cars and there are a lot of offerings in the budget diesel car segment today, priced below Rs 6 lakhs. We have compiled a list of top 5 budget diesel cars to buy in India!

Price – Rs 3.88 Lakhs*

Ever since its launch, Tata Tiago has been making a lot of noise and all because of the right reasons. From becoming the highest selling Tata car (monthly sales), to being the most affordable fully-equipped, Tiago is an obvious choice for buyers looking for a budget hatchback with lots of features. Interestingly, Tiago is also the most affordable diesel car in the market today, the price just for Rs 3.88 Lakhs for the base variant. Upcoming Pixel 2 Renders in Various Colors http://www.indscoop.com/upcoming-pixel-2-renders-in-various-colors/ http://www.indscoop.com/upcoming-pixel-2-renders-in-various-colors/#respond Thu, 10 Aug 2017 04:12:03 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16476 […]]]> We’ve seen enough recent leaks of the Pixel 2 series to know that the successor models do not look very different to their predecessors. There’s been a slight re-jig of how much of the phone has the glossy glass panel on the back; it has shrunk slightly, but apart from that it’s more or less business as usual.

There will be no amazing bronze-coloured metal or any of that jazz we’ve seen in optimistic concept renders.

We are managed to source some renders which it says are based on CAD schematics and leaked live photos, indicating that these renders were made by a third party based on the most accurate information available from the leak-o-sphere. The artist appears to have rendered the device in the typical colours we’ve seen the existing Pixel and Nexus ranges wearing before; silver, black, and blue, but they’ve also added in two possible red variants, one with a white front and one with a black front. We have seen Nexus phones in red before, but not the Pixel series so far.

The black model is definitely going to happen, as leaked photos have showed a black coloured version. Silver seems very likely, or perhaps white, and Google did launch the Pixel in blue last year so that seems a fair guess too.

“Although we don’t know every single minute detail about the Pixel 2, such as where exactly the antenna lines will thread for example, or whether the power button will have the knurled finish of last year’s model, these Pixel 2 renders should provide a nice preliminary look at the upcoming device,” says the report.

The renders adopt some design features which have repeatedly leaked recently; these include the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack and the appearance of some fairly large bezels at the top and bottom of the phone. In the first render we can also see the Type-C USB port in the base, and the sides of the phone too.

Abundantly Red is of course a guess, a riff based on Google’s established colour naming convention; Quite Black, Very Silver, and Really Blue are all repeats of the first-gen Pixel colour names. The source admits that a red and black model seems unlikely and there’s no concrete evidence for a red model at all at this stage.

The Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors onboard with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (higher storage tiers are rumoured, but not confirmed). It’ll have IP68 waterproofing certification, a Full HD display panel and a high-end single-sensor camera.

The dynamic Verna was quite a sensation when first launched, given its predecessor was quite a bland design. The insides have also been modified and looks far more pleasing than the previous models. For the gadget-addicts, you get two USB ports upfront along with a 12-volt socket along with a USB charging port at the back. A first in the segment feature the Verna offers is ventilated seats which could be a great boon for the humid summer days. The company has also added rear curtains along with handsfree smart trunk making it extremely utility rich. Furthermore, the new car also gets rich leather upholstery, a gorgeous sunroof, 6 airbags, and rear AC vents. The new car sees a lot of changes in the technical base. The brand new K2 platform gets ‘super body structure’ built on an advanced high strength steel structure that ensures extremely good rigidity and crash performance. Powering the vehicle is a 1.6 litre petrol and a 1.6 litre diesel engine, which, as per Hyundai’s claim, are the best power figures best in the segment.

iPhone vs Android: Which is better for photography and what makes Google Pixel special http://www.indscoop.com/iphone-vs-android-which-is-better-for-photography-and-what-makes-google-pixel-special/ http://www.indscoop.com/iphone-vs-android-which-is-better-for-photography-and-what-makes-google-pixel-special/#respond Mon, 07 Aug 2017 05:00:50 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16302 […]]]> Clicking good pictures with the iPhone 7 Plus is easy. You just point the phone and click the photo. The iPhone software and the way the device processes images is so good that chances are you will get an image that is exposed accurately and has great white balance.

The portrait mode in the iPhone 7 Plus is truly remarkable. It’s no longer unique. The OnePlus 5 offers similar feature and the so does Micromax Dual 5. Huawei phones too have the similar feature. But the iPhone’s works best. It consistently creates most natural looking pictures.

For shooting videos, the iPhone 7 Plus is miles ahead of other phones in the market. The image stabilisation, the way it deals with focus and the way it processes the footage flawless.

Actually, the features and performance of the iPhone 7 Plus camera make it a very good phone for photographers. It’s an all-rounder and may be that is why Gundotra fell in love with it. But it’s not best and no, Android is not years behind the iPhone when it comes to photography. The iPhone right now has an Achilles’ heel and that is its relatively smaller image sensor. In comparison, there are three Android phones that have stellar image sensors inside them, which give them an edge.

These three phones are: Galaxy S8 (Indian version with Samsung ISOCELL image sensor), Google Pixel (and Pixel XL) and HTC U11.

All these three phones not only click photos with great amount of details they also have superb dynamic range and ability to deal with low light in a better way. In fact, in low light there is no comparison. A Samsung galaxy S8 or a Google Pixel in low light beats the iPhone with ease. In photos clicked with these high-end Android phones, the shadows are cleaner, the noise is lower, the colours are punchier and there is more dynamic light.

Clicked with Google Pixel

Of these all, the Google Pixel is truly remarkable. When compared to a phone like the iPhone 7 Plus, it lacks the fancy portrait mode or telephoto lens. Although it does have a sort of feature that allows users to shoot blurred background. But when it comes to pure image quality, there is no competition between the Pixel and the iPhone 7 Plus. Even in good light, where the larger image sensor in the Pixel is not much of an advantage the Pixel clicks photos that have much better details and a photo that less noise in shadows.

In low light too, the Pixel beats the iPhone with ease. It is a wonderful photography tool with the best camera ever seen in a mobile phone. And for some of its stellar performance the Pixel employs the same technology — computational photography — that impresses Gundotra so much in the iPhone 7 Plus. It’s just that instead using its algorithms to blur background, the Pixel uses them to create higher dynamic range. This is why sunset photos clicked with the Pixel are some of the best you will see. the computational photography is also something that gives the Pixel an edge in low light, as it helps the camera in the phone to intelligently map and process the data it is capturing.

So, iPhone 7 Plus or Pixel for photography

The question to this answer is simple: if you are going to shoot still images, there is no option for you but to take the Google Pixel. It is phenomenally good for still images. But video is your concern, then there is nothing better than the iPhone 7 Plus.

Both are good enough for most people. But my personal preference remains the Google Pixel because of the quality of photos it clicks in low light. This may change once the iPhone 8 with its revamped camera arrives. Or it may not. But right now, there is very little doubt in my mind — and this after using both the iPhone 7 Plus and the Pixel — that Google’s phone is definitely not behind the iPhone in photography.

How to Share Google Keep Notes With Other Apps on Your Phone http://www.indscoop.com/how-to-share-google-keep-notes-with-other-apps-on-your-phone/ http://www.indscoop.com/how-to-share-google-keep-notes-with-other-apps-on-your-phone/#respond Sat, 05 Aug 2017 16:40:33 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16183 […]]]> Google Keep is one of the simplest ways to collaborate with vanilla notes. You can tap and feed a Gmail ID to share notes with a colleague or family member. But did you know that the Google Keep app on your phone also allows you to share notes with other apps?

The most obvious way is to send Google Keep notes to Google Docs. This transfer is useful when you want to develop quick ideas: capture an idea in Google Keep, then send it over to Google Docs to flesh out the details. You can do this on the web, Android, and iOS.

 1. Select the note you want to send.
 2. Click More (the three vertical dots).
 3. Click Copy to Google Doc.

Similarly, in the iOS app, select the note (don’t open it) with a touch. Click the Actions icon (three horizontal dots). Select Copy to Google Docs from the menu which slides into view from the bottom of the screen.

Sharing Notes With Other Apps

Often, it can be useful to jot down little reminders for a point you want to include in an email or mention in a chat conversation. With Google Keep you can send a note to other Google products like Gmail and Hangouts. This only works on the mobile apps.

The side-benefit is that you can use Google Keep to send something to a non-Google application on your mobile OS too.

For instance, you can use Google Keep like a “draft folder,” or as a writing pad to share your thoughts. Here are some ideas:

 • Prep your Facebook Status message or tweets in Google Keep and send it at the right time.
 • Jot down your thoughts and then send it as a mass SMS to a group via Messages (iOS) or WhatsApp.
 • Send a Slack message from Keep, add to a Trello board, or save a note on Evernote.

For instance, I often note my half-formed ideas on Keep so that I can distribute them to the respective apps when they have evolved into something complete. Notes need to easy and speedy. The quick access of Google Keep helps to capture those brain sparks.

Waze is finally available on Android Auto http://www.indscoop.com/waze-is-finally-available-on-android-auto/ http://www.indscoop.com/waze-is-finally-available-on-android-auto/#respond Sat, 05 Aug 2017 03:16:56 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16181 […]]]> After a couple of months of beta testing, the popular, Google-owned navigation service Waze has finally made its way to Android Auto.

The Android Auto app retains the functionality of its mobile counterpart, including the familiar police, traffic, and crash reporting features, but adapts everything for the much larger screen of your car’s center console. Everything is pretty straightforward, especially if you have experience with the mobile app, and initiating routes is easier than ever. All it takes is an “Ok Google” and the name your final stop. Of course, your “Home” and “Work” locations, as well as all other places that you may have starred on the mobile app, will translate to Waze on Android Auto when you sync it up.

Google Maps has been a go-to service for many Android Auto users for quite some time now, and although it still has its place on the platform, Waze brings so much more to the table when it comes to GPS navigation. Many of you are probably already using the app on your smartphones, but if you own a car that supports Android Auto, there’s no good reason to keep mounting your phone on the dashboard and squint at the small screen!

Further, Waze’s interface has been re-tailored to work on much larger displays and to be useful and efficient while driving, which means that the map is now much larger and so are the various icons on it, denoting alerts, hazards, points of interest, and others. You’ll also get the familiar visual and audio alerts to keep you informed of what’s ahead and to help you find the quickest routes to your destination.

Setting up Waze on your car is easy. All you have to do is install the latest versions of the Android Auto and Waze apps on you smartphone, connect your phone to one of the USB ports on your center console, select “Waze” from the navigational menu, and you’re pretty much set! For more detailed instructions, refer to the official Waze blog, linked below.

How to use WhatsApp on your computer to message more http://www.indscoop.com/how-to-use-whatsapp-on-your-computer-to-message-more/ http://www.indscoop.com/how-to-use-whatsapp-on-your-computer-to-message-more/#respond Fri, 04 Aug 2017 06:31:28 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16169 […]]]> You might not know that WhatsApp isn’t just bound to your phone, though. You can use it on your computer, too. This lets you get a better look at photos, makes reading lengthy paragraphs a little more manageable, and allows you to scroll faster through group messages to get to what you’re looking for.

Here’s how to set up WhatsApp Web so you have access to the app in two places instead of one. Once you do this, all of your messages will be synched between the two devices.

Anyone with the following phones can set up WhatsApp Web:

 • Android
 • iPhone ( iOS 8.1 and higher)
 • Windows (8.0 and 8.1)
 • Nokia S60
 • Nokia S40 EVO
 • BlackBerry
 • BlackBerry 10

If you have one of those phones, you’re set to get started. The first thing you’ll need to do is go to web.whatsapp.com on your computer. Make sure your phone is still using data or a Wi-Fi connection. You can only access WhatsApp Web if your phone is working since that’s the main connection for your account.

You should see the screen below after you follow the link.

You’ll see a QR code when you go to WhatsApp Web.

The next step is opening up WhatsApp on your phone and signaling that you want to use WhatsApp Web.

Here’s how to do so on each compatible phone.

 • On Android: in the Chats screen > Menu > WhatsApp Web.
 • On Nokia S60 and Windows Phone: go to Menu > WhatsApp Web.
 • On iPhone: go to Settings > WhatsApp Web.
 • On BlackBerry: go to Chats > Menu > WhatsApp Web.
 • On BlackBerry 10: Swipe down from top of the screen > WhatsApp Web.
 • On Nokia S40: Swipe up from bottom of screen > WhatsApp Web.

This is what it looks like on my iPhone. Once you hit “WhatsApp Web/Desktop” the app will access your phone’s camera so you can scan the QR code on your computer.

Use your phone to scan the QR code.

After you scan the QR code, WhatsApp Web will open up so you can start chatting away. If you have any previous conservations on your mobile app, they will all show up here.

Continue conversations on WhatsApp Web.

You can also download WhatsApp Web for your Mac or Windows PC if you’d rather do that. Mac users will need Mac OS X 10.9 and higher and Windows users will need Windows 8 and higher.

The whole set up should take less than five minutes, so you might as well do it right away. Then just start enjoying WhatsApp in all the places you can!

Understanding GST on Credit Card Transactions http://www.indscoop.com/understanding-gst-on-credit-card-transactions/ http://www.indscoop.com/understanding-gst-on-credit-card-transactions/#respond Thu, 03 Aug 2017 06:15:08 +0000 http://www.indscoop.com/?p=16177 […]]]> Credit card transactions will undoubtedly be covered under GST and it would be applicable on late credit card payments, interest rate and processing fee.

There were rumours doing round that GST will be levied doubly on credit card transactions/payments, once on the Utility Bill and again on the Credit Card Bill. However, the truth is that there would be 18% GST applicable on Late Credit Card Payments but nothing would be charged doubly. Revenue Secretary – Dr. Hansmukh Adhia had also clarified this in one of his tweets earlier this month. Credit card transactions will undoubtedly be covered under GST and it would be applicable on late credit card payments, interest rate and processing fee. GST will not be applicable on foreign credit cards.

A set off facility is also available to the banks whereby the end customers will be the recipient of any savings that result from the bank setting off their liabilities pertaining to GST against credit received by them on purchase of goods.

The concept of Input Service Distribution i.e. ISD uses the accumulated input credit in those cases where areas releasing liabilities of GST are not quite the same as area where inputs are gotten.
With 18% GST, an increment is expected in the cost of financial transactions like loan processing fees, debit/credit card charges, insurance premiums and so on, however this increase in the charges is moderate as this 18% GST replaces the previous 15% Service Tax.

Currently, when when a user clicks link of YouTube then they are forced out of the messaging app. Taking over the entire display screen makes, it a bit difficult to multitask, forcing users to switch between active frames. Only the handsets capable of split views can see both the applications at once.

However, the new hyped up feature will make things easy. The feature, which is hidden in iOS handsets from iPhone 6 and above versions, will be activated once it is ready.

This will help users to watch the youtube in chats itself.

Meanwhile, there is no information about the availability of the feature in android devices.
