The new 2017 Suzuki Swift is still some time away from its launch but we have, time and again, seen the upcoming hatchback through various test mules or digital renders. The latest set of renders come from the folks at AVTOFOKUS who have digitally imagined the 2017 Swift and released a front and rear image of what they feel the hatchback would look like. The render is based on the leaked images of the Swift which surfaced during a dealer meet in Europe. The render, however, does remind us of the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport variant’s digital rendered which was seen in a

The rendered Swift stands in a bright yellow livery. The floating roof is even more pronounced for 2017 with the upper half of the C-pillar getting blacked out. Upfront is the new hexagonal grille with a chrome Suzuki logo in the centre. The front bumper lip, side sill and rear bumper are imagined in a contrasting black shade to make the paint job less monotonous. The rear bumper gets a thick bumper cladding and chrome finished exhaust piped at either ends so it would be safe to assume that this is a render of the hotted up Swift Sport, with upgraded suspension, brakes and steering, along with the body kit.

For a quick recap, the new Swift will receive Baleno’s Liquid Flow design philosophy. The 2017 Swift will be based on the Baleno’s lightweight platform and will reportedly provide better crash protection, with construction comprising of 41 percent of tensile steel. This would also make the new Swift significantly lighter than the outgoing model. The new version of the hatchback is expected to employ a 1.4-litre, turbocharged Booster-jet petrol engine good for 140 hp for the Sport variant. Other power-train options could range from the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine to an all-new diesel engine that’s under development by Maruti.
