After Flipkart Lite, Snapdeal Launches Snap-Lite Mobile Website

Just four days after Flipkart launched its new Flipkart Lite mobile website, India’s second most popular e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal introduced its very own Snap-Lite mobile website. But unlike Flipkart Lite, which focuses on offering app-like features, Snapdeal’s Lite mobile website is optimized for slow Internet connection. So, it lacks support for push notifications, offline functionality and option to add a shortcut on the home screen.

Another big advantage of using Snapdeal Lite is that it is available on all web browsers, which is better as Flipkart Lite is currently only available for Chromium-based mobile web browsers. “We have always stood for choice and this is another example of a better mobile experience across all browsers,” said, Anand Chandrasekaran, Chief Product Officer at Snapdeal.

Snapdeal says that it has used HTML5 to build its new Snap-Lite website. Thanks to that it loads faster even on slow connection. If you are not satisfied with that version of Snapdeal’s mobile site then you can anytime switch to 3G mobile site, desktop website or Snapdeal’s Official App.

Flipkart and Snapdeal, both are the most popular e-commerce website in India right now. With Flipkart taking the lead as India’s largest online shopping marketplace and Snapdeal taking the 2nd spot as the second largest e-commerce giant in India.
